Whitehall- Carol J. Whalen age 93, died peacefully in her sleep at home on July 16, 2017
She was born on December 25, 1923, the daughter of Adelaide (Raino Wilson) Toulman and William J Toulman.
Carol was a graduate of Whitehall High School. Upon graduation she worked at GE in Schenectady and later worked for Kingsley Ford Motors and Burns Insurance Agency in Whitehall. Carol lived in Whitehall for most of her life and spent some of her younger years living is Schenectady and Glens Falls, NY.
Carol enjoyed golfing, and was an avid antique collector and an excellent quilter. Carol also enjoyed the company of her cat, Maggie , and would always share cat stories. She was a member of the Red Hats Society.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Roy "Slug" Whalen, and infant grandchildren Garrett and Cameron Whalen, her brothers Edmond Wilson and John Toulman and sisters Ethel and Dorothy Wilson.
She is survived by her sons, John F. Whalen of Alpharetta, Georgia and Jeffrey D. Whalen and his wife, Patricia of Whitehall, New York. Her grandchildren include Heather Whalen-Byrd and her husband Ken of Playa Vista, California, Brian Whalen and his wife, Lisa of Alpharetta, Georgia, Brooke Jillson Whalen of Rutland, Vermont and Emma Whalen of Whitehall. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Eli and Hayden of Alpharetta, Georgia. She is also survived by her dear friend, Dixie Terry of Whitehall, NY.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on July 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Our Lady of Hope, Roman Catholic Church. A Rite of Committal will follow the Mass in the Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Whitehall.
