Barbara Ann (McPhee) Gordon

Whitehall – Barbara A. (McPhee) Gordon, 70, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2017 unexpectedly at the Glens Falls Hospital. 

She was born on November 3, 1946 to the late Fredrick and Helen (Belden) McPhee in Glens Falls.

She was married on September 13, 1964 to her husband Robert Gordon.  They would have celebrated their 53rd year of marriage this month. 

Barbara was employed at the law offices of Cranston Howe in Fair Haven, Vermont as a paralegal for 25 years.  After retiring from the law office she went on to work as a secretary for the Jillson Funeral Home in Whitehall for 15 years.

She enjoyed going to all sporting events at Whitehall High School.  Along with her husband, they attended many games, traveling all over the area to watch the boys and girls play.  They were the schools biggest supporters.  To them, these athletes were their children.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her father-in-law Richard W. Gordon, Sr., mother-in-law, Margaret (Wood) Gordon and brother-in-law Richard W. Gordon, Jr.

She is survived by her husband Robert, her brother Charles McPhee of Hartford, NY, sisters Deborah (James) Putorti and Sheila (Tom) Moore of Whitehall, brother Robert (Laura) McPhee of Pace, Florida, Brother-in-law, Harlow (Jackie) Gordon of Poultney, Vermont, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 2 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm – 8 pm on Tuesday September 5, 2017 at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc., 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, NY.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 6, 2017 at the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall, with the Pastor Reverend Rendell Torres officiating.

Interment will follow the Mass in the Greenmount Cemetery, Whitehall.

A gathering will take place after the interment at the Whitehall Elks Lodge, 1491.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Ave., Whitehall, NY 12887.
