I was deeply saddened to hear of Carolee's passing. Mrs P was my grade school art teacher. She was creative and funny and kind and besides teaching me how to draw she told me that the proper name for a butterfly is really "flutter-by." The would will be a little less whimsical without her.

I was very sad to hear that my favorite grade school art teacher passed this week. Mrs P was a gifted storyteller with an unparalleled imagination and a gigantic sense of mischief. She was creative and funny and kind and she taught me how to draw. Rest in peace, Carolee. The world is a little less whimsical without you

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Pawana and your family. Carolee & I go way back as teenagers. So many fun times and lots of laughs. The smile that always lit up the room; the stories told made you want to hear more; her visits to my folks in later years, on the way home from school, were treasured by them.

Sending deepest sympathy to the Parwana family. I sat next to Carolee at many faculty meetings where I was entertained by her comments and the way she decorated her coffee cup with drawings.

My condolences and prayers to the family of Carolee. I was sad to learn of her passing and have fond memories of her art classes, where she taught us perspective drawing. I remember how fun it was to learn in her class. She always encouraged creativity. Mrs. Parwana (as I will always remember her as), was a great aritist and would give us her drawings to keep. I had forgotten about the "threat" of being turned into a Purple Toad stool. Typical of her great sense of humor and good nature! What a wonderful woman!

We spent many years teaching with Carolee. Whenever she entered the elementary teachers' room, things were sure not to be boring. She was always ready to engage in any and every kind of conversation. Nobody was ever safe from her comments.

When we moved into our new house on East River Drive in Lake Luzerne, she and Hakim came to visit and gifted us with iris, lilies, and hosta that are still thriving and multiplying in our flower gardens. When we look at them, we remember her. They even brought a bale of hay to spread on our new lawn.

I (Jackie) will never forget how she had me doing 20 minute art classes moving from homeroom to homeroom weaving paper baskets with kindergarten and first graders! What an exhausting exercise that was for me.

She was a good friend, a very special and unique person, and will be much missed. May the good Lord bless her and keep her.

Carolee, I'm sure you've been reunited with Trinket by now and because they don't allow lying up there, you'll finally have to fess up to the fact that you never beat Larry, Jim or me in a horse race.
