Whitehall-Charles “Chuck” Manell, born on December 10th, 1942, passed away on October 22, 2018, at home with his loving family after a long illness.
A retired maintenance welder from Native Textiles, Chuck, a no nonsense, no frills man, enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. He found special joy in spending time with his family.
Chuck is predeceased by his father, Henry “Sonny” Manell Jr.; Mother, Virginia “Peggy” (Bassett) Manell, and Grandparents, Mae Manell, Henry S. Manell Sr., Clara Bassett, and Frank Bassett.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Jennie (McCotter) Manell; his children Wendy Johnston and her husband Tim, Heather Colomb, and Charles H. “Chip” Manell; his sister Maryann Terry and her husband Dave; His grandchildren Tara Petty, T.J. Johnston, Michelle Colomb, and Jessie Colomb; as well as several nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Family and friends may call from 4:30 to 6:30pm on Friday October 26, 2018 at Jillson’s Funeral Home, 46 Williams St. Whitehall. A funeral liturgy outside of Mass will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Rendell Torres, Pastor of the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall.
A time for fellowship and refreshments will be held after the service at the home of his daughter Heather Colomb at 34 Champlain Avenue in Whitehall.
