Eleanor P. Miller, 90, of Basking Ridge NJ and Huletts Landing NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 15th at hersummer home after a long illness. Born in Englewood NJ to Amelia and John Mulea.
Eleanor grew up in Teaneck NJ with her older sister Beatrice. After high school, she worked in NYC in the fashion industryand from 1952-1954 worked in France as a civilian for the US Army.
She met her husband William through a Catholic singles ski club. Through that club they were also introduced to a beautiful community in Huletts Landing Lake George NY where they purchased their summer home in 1970.
After retirement, Eleanor went back to school and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000 from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.A. in English. She was 72 at the time.
Eleanor was the driving energy of her family and a very talented writer and artist including writing three books and a number of oil paintings. She was very proud of her three children; Mary Beth Finn and her husband Thomas of Clinton NJ, Stephen Miller of Chatham NJ and John Miller and his wife Catherine of Westfield NJ, and her seven grandchildren Jacklynne Finn, Alyssa Finn Coons and her husband Charles, Blaise Finn, Nicole, Austin, Erika and Ian Miller. Her husband and best friend William whom she has been married to for 54 years died in 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30am on Monday August 26, 2019 at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Huletts Landing with the Rev. Rendell Torres Officiating. .Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ on Tuesday August 27, 2019.
