Keith Bakerian Obituary

Whitehall-Keith E. “Poppi” Bakerian, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 2, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Catherine (Rushia) Bakerian of Whitehall, NY and they shared 39 years together.

He was born on January 15, 1961 in Troy, NY, the son of Nazar Bakerian of Rensselaer, NY and Sandra (St. Jock) Tucker of Dunnellon, FL and the son of the late Clarence Tucker Sr.

In his early years he was employed at Champlain Beef for 15 years. He later went on to work for Finch Paper Co. for another 15 years and then most recently by the Whitehall Central School District.

Keith volunteered a lot of his time. He recently joined the Skenesborough Rescue Squad as a driver, he started out as a firefighter with the Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Department and later joined the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department where he stayed until the time of his passing close to 30+ years.

In addition to his father Clarence Tucker Sr. he is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Joseph and Siran Bakerian. Uncle Joseph Bakerian Jr.  Maternal grandparents Roger & Velma St. Jock. Aunts Elizabeth Julien and Donna Cobb. Uncles Gary and Ronnie St. Jock Sr. Two brothers, Clarence “Tuck” Tucker Jr., Nicholas "Nicky" Bakerian, mother in law Rosemary Rushia and grandbaby Morgan Bakerian.

Most importantly he cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren & great granddaughters., and cherished all the time spent cheering on his grandchildren’s sports events and being the avid “water guy” for both teams to stay hydrated. He enjoyed taking them fishing, swimming, apple picking, sledding, out for breakfast and many more activities. He loved to call his family and would talk about anything.  He had a big heart, and he cared about everyone and would try to help wherever he could, even if it was just offering an ear. He was known to many and will be remembered by all as “Poppi”, “Pork chop” and “Big Guy”.  He will also be well known for his funny sayings such as “What the problem is”.

Left to cherish his unconditional love and memories are his wife Catherine (Rushia) Bakerian sons Todd Rushia, Brian Bakerian and Brandon Bakerian. Daughters Amber Bakerian and partner Jason Vandenburgh, Ashley (Bakerian) Hatton and Spouse Christopher Hatton. He was like a father to many especially, Amber (Bennett) Hurley and Nicole (Bennett) Roberts. Grandchildren Courtney (Logan), Shyla, Preston, Michael, Paiton, Brandon Jr., Taylor, Melanie, Nathan, Lainey, Nicholas, Logan, Jacob, Brooklynn, Lucas, Brayden, Brianna, Emily and Ashlyn. Great grandchildren Hayleigh & London. Beloved brothers Roger Tucker and Johnny Tucker. Beloved sisters Debbie Burt (Kenny) & Betty Burt (Lou), Velma Bennett, many nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.
