Pearl (Greco) Aunchman

Pearl Aunchman, 94, the loving wife of the late Gerald Aunchman, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2017 at her beloved home in Whitehall.

First and always came family.  Mom was a dutiful daughter, always there for her Mom and Dad.  She was a wonderful wife to Gerald.  A marvelous mother to Jerry, Bob and Mike.  She was a grateful grandmother and great grandmother.  Mom was her happiest with family.

Mom was born in Whitehall to Michael and Florence Greco, on October 31, 1922.  She attended and graduated from Whitehall High School, where she met her future husband.  She went on to attend Albany Business College for the next two years.  Mother was proud to list her occupation as homemaker, though she worked many years as a Teacher’s Aide at Whitehall Elementary School.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents,  her husband Gerald Aunchman, her siblings Louise Monforte, Michael Greco Jr., and Madeline (Dolly) Greco, whom she cared for a large part of her life.  She was also preceded by a special daughter-n-law Linda Aunchman.

Mom is survived by her three sons Jerry, Robert (Angela), Michael (Kaye).  She also leaves behind six grandchildren.  Terry, Nicole Aunchman Marsh, Christopher, Jeffrey, Gregory and Katie Aunchman Leahy.  Mom was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren.  Jillian, Lauryn, Jake, Nicholas, Cameron, Jeffrey, Joseph, Robert, Francesca, Giuliana and Hadely.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm – 8 pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, New York 12887.  Court McLaughlin #596, Catholic Daughters of America, will be offering prayers at 7:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall with the Pastor Rev. Rendell Torres, officiating. Burial will directly follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.  The family invites all friends of Pearl to the BPOE Elks Lodge after interment for a luncheon in her honor.
