Carolyn Jean (Whalen) Raino, 86, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Glens Falls, New York. Born on May 11, 1939, in Whitehall, New York, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Harold Whalen and Leah Peasley Whalen.
Carolyn and Benjamin Raino were married on June 12, 1958, together they raised 4 children. She worked as a school bus driver for an impressive 45 years, beginning her career with the Whitehall Central School District before continuing to drive for the Fort Ann School District. Known for her reliability and care, she safely transported generations of students to and from school aboard Bus #26. Her dedication left a lasting impression on countless families who fondly remember her warm smile and friendly demeanor.
Carolyn found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading and solving puzzles, activities that reflected her thoughtful and patient nature. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with love and laughter.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Karen Howie Fryer, Benjamin H. Raino, SallyAnn Raino (and son-in-law Troy Rollins), and William J. Raino, 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren She is also survived by Gordon Durkee, who brought music and joy into her life for many years. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Leah Whalen.
Carolyn’s legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and love. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to those who knew her.
