Donald "Moochie" Longtin, 82, of Whitehall, NY, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Sunday September 21, 2025 following a long illness.
Moochie was born on September 28, 1942. Initially raised in Fair Haven, VT, he was the son of the late Donald and Alice (Pockette) Longtin. Surviving siblings include a sister, Marie (Jack) McLaughlin and a brother, Garry (Darcy) Longtin.
He is also survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia (O'Neil) Longtin; three daughters: Brenda (Rick) Walden, Ginger (Frank) Augusta and Amanda Longtin; and six grandchildren: Jacob (Krista) Hyatt, Jesse Hyatt, Hannah (Ricky) Rodriguez, and Sarah, Madeline and Ethan Walden.
Other survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Moochie was a hardworking man and a good provider. He spent almost 36 years working on the railroad until his retirement in 2002. He was also a patriotic man, and prior to working on the railroad, he served in the US Navy for four years.
There will be no calling hours or services. A small Celebration of Life for close friends and family will be held at a later date. His arrangements are under the care of the Jillson Funeral Home Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, NY.
