Whitehall: Dorothy Currier Pinkowski, 85, of County Route 12 passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Washington Center in Argyle following a Short illness.
Born in Benson, Vermont on December 1, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice Mae (Green) Currier.
She was employed at many garment companies throughout the years. Dorothy started working for the coat factory in Whitehall for seventeen years and then fifteen years at J.J. Lingerie Co. in Granville before retiring after two years Troy Shirt Guild in Whitehall.
She and her husband John J. Pinkowski were married on December 8, 1948 at the Our Lady of Angels Church in Whitehall. They were married for Sixty five years before John passed away on February 1, 2014
Besides her parents and husband she is predeceased by three brothers Kenneth Currier, Roy Currier and Benjamin Currier.
Dorothy was a Communicate of the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall. She enjoyed going on trips, was Past Exalted Lady of the Whitehall Elks Lodge # 1491 Fawns.
Survivors include nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Rendell Torres, pastor, officiating.
Family and friends may call on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 5:00 to7:00 PM at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, New York
Following the Mass internment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in West Rutland Vermont.
Family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Hope Memorial Fund, 9 Wheeler Avenue, Whitehall, NY 12887
