Fay E. Terry, 88 of Latour Street, Whitehall NY was received into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
Born on March 29, 1928 in Whitehall, NY, she was the daughter of the late Medric and Ada (Rondeau) Gandron. After graduation from Whitehall High School she studied nursing at Union College on the GI Bill where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She was the mother of 6, a homemaker and then began her career at Glens Falls Hospital where she worked on the Oncology Unit for over 30 years.
She was active in her community. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Red Hat Society, and the Fawns of the B.P.O.E Lodge No. 1491 of Whitehall. She was very involved in the Senior Citizen Center attending exercise classes, dinners and outings. She worked alongside her husband for Senator Ron Stafford. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
As a grandmother she never missed the annual family camping trip to Lake Bomoseen, days on the beach and attending numerous events for any of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many winters in Florida with her husband.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Russell E. Terry, her son Stephen Philip Terry, and her sister Regina Michelfelder of Iowa.
Survivors include her sister Leola (Pi) McKee, her daughter Pamela Kochenour (Lee) of The Villages, Florida and their children Shannon Jessup (Michael), Jocelyn Terry (Joe), and Nathaniel Kochenour; son David Terry (Mary Ann) of Whitehall, NY and their daughters Elizabeth Hoffman (Eric), Amanda Heckman (Eric), and Heidi Price (Daniel); daughter Susan Yelle (Keith) of Colonie, NY and her children Richard Burnley, Jr. (Joy), and Kari McCabe (Brian); son Michael Terry (Cindy) of Queensbury, NY and their sons Andrew Terry (Sara) and Adam Terry (Marissa); daughter JoAnn Rehm (Alton) of Whitehall and their sons Seth Rehm, Eric Rehm (Lauren), and Luke Rehm (Lauren).She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren: Lylah and William Jessup, Keegan Hoffman, Lily and Mason Heckman, Valerie, Kaitlyn, and Sara Burnley, Julianna, Cassidy, and Abigail McCabe, Brysen, Rhys, and Kaja Terry, and Enzo Rehm.
Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 from 2PM to 4PM and 5:30PM to 7:00PM at Jillson Funeral Home 46 William St., Whitehall, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 30th, at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church located on Skene Street with the Rev. Rendell Torres Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
The Red Hats will meet at 3:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Following the services, a reception will be held for family and friends for a time of fellowship and refreshments at Historic Grounds, Main St, Whitehall, NY.
