Whitehall-Francis (Beanie) Wilbur, of Whitehall, NY, passed away with his grandson Dominic by his side, the evening of October 11, 2025, at the Washington Center in Argyle.
Born on February 24, 1946, he was the youngest child of Leon and Margaret Wilbur. He was diagnosed with Polio at 3 years old. He had lasting effects of the disease, but never let his disability hold him back, overcoming many obstacles throughout his childhood.
On November 9, 1964, he married the love of his life, Marie (Crosier) Wilbur.
They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, before her passing on October 12, 2022. Together they raised 9 children, later welcoming many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lit up their lives.
Francis loved the outdoors, all of his life. You could always find him fishing, hunting, riding 4wheelers with his grandchildren, or often in a hayfield where he would be cutting and bailing hay, for his many animals he enjoyed raising, on his little farm in the country.
He cherished any time spent with his family and friends. Especially weekly dinners with his wife, his children and his grandchildren, as well as time spent in the woods or at camp with his sons and his buddies, during hunting season. He enjoyed trips to Florida each spring, to spend time with his brother Richard, as well as the family reunions each summer, hosted by his sister-in-law, Fannie. He also loved his trips to Maine to visit the ocean, with his wife and oldest daughter Tina.
Francis was predeceased by his beautiful wife Marie, whom he missed dearly for the past 3 years, his siblings Ida, Maynard, Ella, Leon, and Richard, his grandson Cody Fitzpatrick, as well as a son-in-law, Bryan Gebo who passed just 2 short weeks before him.
He is survived by his children, Tina Golden (William), Charles Wilbur (Jan), Wendy Murphy, Marie Ballard (Isidro), Cindy Fitzpatrick, Erica Sala, Chad Wilbur, Christopher Wilbur, and Francis Wilbur (Karissa). Grandchildren, Eric (Katy), Nick, Johnny, Betsy, Mariah (Patrick), Kaleigh (Caleb), Ashlyn, Brendan, Destiny, Tanika (EJ), Dominic, Colton, Richelle, Derrick, Raymond, Pauline, Sheila, Rosemarry, Carry, Brian, and Danny. Great-grandchildren, Colin, Lily, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Millie, Noah, Nolan, Westley, Paisley, Leonardo, Lorenzo, Liam, Jackson, Aria and Karsen, who became his best buddy over the past 17 months, enjoying singing songs, playing peek a boo and sharing lunch together.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Francis will be missed dearly, but we take comfort knowing he is now reunited with the love of his life.
