Frank H Kingsley Jr. April 28, 1928 – Sep 29, 2024 A life well lived
Frank H. Kingsley Jr. of Whitehall, NY, born in Ticonderoga, NY on April 28, 1928, lived a full, meaningful life, passing away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024 surrounded by loving family.
Frank grew up in the Great Depression and quickly showed his character by earning the rank of Eagle Scout while working for the WWII war effort. The day after his high school graduation, at 17 years, he enlisted in the Army and served for the duration of the war. He then obtained an undergrad degree from Syracuse University. To support this effort, he was commissioned into the newly formed Air Force and served in Okinawa in the Korean War. After receiving his honorable discharge, he enrolled in and obtained his law degree from Cornell Law School. He opened his private law practice in Whitehall and spent decades working to assist the citizens of Washington and Essex county. He also served 40 years as a Washington County Assistant District Attorney.
Frank is predeceased by his brothers Dick, Bob, Harry, sister Susan Ingerson, wife Ann (Kennefick), and daughter Claire Kingsley. Always showing his sense of humor, referring to his siblings, he often said lately, "I was the first to come in, and I'll be the last to go out." and he was.
He is survived by wife Barbara (Anderson), children Pam Lobdell, Zoe Kingsley, and Kevin (Lisa) Kingsley, Suzanne Fountaine, grandchildren Sean Lobdell, Kelly (Tim) Murphy, Chris Lobdell, Karen Kingsley, Narinjan Kingsley, and Kristina (Kyle) Antognioni and 8 great-grandchildren.
Service information – A viewing will be held at Jillson Funeral Home in Whitehall, NY Friday, October 4th between 3 and 6 PM. A celebration of life gathering will be immediately following, 6-8 PM at the Whitehall Elks Club.
Frank has met his pilot.
