Gary L. Senecal

WHITEHALL: Gary L. Senecal 57 of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Friday June 10, 2016 with his family by his side, at the Albany Medical Center following a massive stroke.

He was born on April 2, 1959 in Belle Glade, Florida.  The son of Paul and Clara (Tooley) Senecal.

Gary graduated from Whitehall Central School. Following graduation he worked at the family business in Poultney, Vermont and later at Skyline Inc. in Fair Haven, Vermont.  He then started a career as a Correctional Officer with the New State Department of Correction. He began working at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and then worked for 21 Years at Washington Correctional Facility, before retiring on disability as a Sergeant.

He was a member of the Whitehall Grange #92 of Whitehall, Whitehall B.P.O.E Lodge #1491.

Gary was an avid hunter which he greatly enjoyed.

He is predeceased by his Grandparents Paul and Catherine Senecal and LeRoy and Alice Tooley.

Besides his parents he is survived by a daughter Melissa Loya and her husband Zachary,

One grandson Austin Loya, a brother Dale Senecal, a sister Debbie Pecue and her husband Roy, several nieces, nephews, aunts ,uncles and cousins.

The funeral service was held at the convenience of the family on June 13, 2016 at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, New York 12887.  Internment followed in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery in Middle Granville, New York.
