Gertrude Helen McKenna

Whitehall-Gertrude Helen Campbell Rose McKenna, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 98, at an assisted living facility in Falls Church, Virginia.

She was born in 1927 in Fort Ann, NY to Florence (nee VanTassell) and George Campbell.  She moved to Whitehall after graduating from Fort Ann High School in 1944. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for small businesses in Whitehall, including F.H. Kingsley and Sons Ford Garage, and Beckwith's Fuel Oil Company. She moved to Brooklyn in 1987.

She was predeceased in death by her first husband, Raymond Rose, her second husband, Eugene McKenna, Sr., also predeceased by her companion of several years, Anthony Perrone; her stepson, Eugene McKenna, Jr.; and her stepdaughter, Geraldine McKenna.

She is survived by her daughter Gail (Ron) Keong, her daughter-in-law, Toni McKenna, and her step grandson, John Varnas. She is also survived by Anthony Perrone's daughter Carol (Bob) De Marco, granddaughter Joanne DeMarco, grandson Robert DeMarco, and great grandchildren Frankie, Giavanna, Robbie, and Mariska.

Family and friends are invited to gather at 10 am on Monday August 4, 2025, at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall, NY., before a burial in the North Granville Cemetery at 11am.
