Whitehall-James Edward “Wills” Williams, born May 25, 1950, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories rooted in community, family, and simple joys.
A lifelong resident of Whitehall, New York, Jim was a familiar and friendly face to many. Known affectionately as “Wills,” he lived a life defined by appreciation—for the outdoors, for companionship, and above all, the love for his family. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1968, where he excelled in track and field and he was also honored to serve as a delegate to the American Legion Boys State of New York. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and former member of the Whitehall Elks Lodge 1491, and The Sons of The American Legion.
Jim found happiness in life’s everyday pleasures: fishing and hunting, cooking, traveling to Jensen Beach, Florida, attending Belter family reunions, and enjoying good company during “happy hour”. Whether taking a leisurely walk through town or catching up with friends, he embraced each day with a warm and easygoing spirit.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Florence Williams, and his brother, Mike Williams. Jim is survived by his loving sisters, Barb (Ivars) Semeiks and Cheri
Williams (Jim Martell), along with his cherished nieces and nephews; Bethany Semeiks, Corey Williams, Patrick Williams, Heather Williams, Lindsay Telisky, Loren Martell,
Caroline Williams, Charlotte Williams, Tanner Telisky, and Julia Telisky.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Holbrook Adult Home, and especially to Debbie and Christene, for their compassionate care and support over the past four years.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends on May 2nd at noon at Greenmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may make a donation to Whitehall United Methodist Church.
