Whitehall - Janet M. Jillson, 59, of East Street went into the arms of the Lord on Friday January 27, 2017 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC), surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Janet was born on March 26, 1957 in Glens Falls, NY the daughter of Anthony and Jean (Austin) Barber.

She was predeceased by her first husband Neil T. Molinero who passed away in 1980, father in law John M. Molinero, brother in law John F. Molinero, father in law Richard S. Jillson, mother in law Elna L. Jillson and brother in law Steven R. Jillson.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband of 31 years Jay T. Jillson.  Her children Heidi M. Dockum (Scotty) of Whitehall, Neil F. Molinero (Nicole) of Whitehall, Amber J. Frenyea (Andrew) of Queensbury, NY and Megan L. Wilbur (Colin) of Whitehall.  Her siblings Tony G. Barber (Landy) of Anaheim Hills, CA, Karen Mylott (Gary) of Leeds, NY, Susan Frazier (Bill) of Glens Falls, NY and Paula Steves (Kevin) of Whitehall.  Her grandchildren, Jillian Jaye Frenyea, Anthony John Molinero and Rosalie Meta Frenyea.   Her mother in law Joyce Molinero and sisters in law Peggy Sparano (John), Beth Molinero (Jeff), all of Whitehall, Laurie Golding (Michael) of Waterliet, NY and Claire Greene (Ralph) of Fort Ann, NY.  Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She also leaves behind her special friends and supporters, Pat Manor, Jean and Michael O’Brien and Debbie Arquette all of Whitehall, Lori PalmerJames (David) of Bettendorf, IA and the many people who sent her cards and words of love and encouragement.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall.  Janet was a spiritually strong woman who lived for her family and adored her grandchildren.  Her family was her passion.  Her house was always open to anyone.  Holidays were what she loved the most especially time spent with family and friends.  She loved to garden, taking care of her flower beds and working around the outside of her home.

She fought her illness for 27 months and would not let it define her life.  She would always say that she was feeling good. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Foley Cancer Center at RRMC, all of their nurses and staff and especially Allan Eisemann, MD and Leonard DeLorenzo, RPA for the wonderful care and treatment.  Also, to the fifth floor oncology department of RRMC for their constant care and comfort during her final days.                  

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 1, 2017 from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-7pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 2, 2017 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall with Rev. Rendell Torres Pastor officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Pall bearers will be Andrew Frenyea, Scotty Dockum, Colin Wilbur, John Diekel, Brandon Steves, Michael Barber, Michael O’Brien and Ricky DeLorme.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Janet’s name to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Ave., Whitehall, NY, 12887.
