Whitehall, Kenneth N. Shoemaker III, 67, passed away in the Albany Medical Center following complications due to heart surgery.
Ken was born on October 1, 1954, the son of Mary (Caputo) and Kenneth Shoemaker.
He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the US Navy. He was very proud of the time he served in the military. He was also a Washington County Sheriff Department Correction Officer. He always said “you have to give respect to get respect, no matter the situation”.
He was the kind of guy that if something needed to be fixed, built, or just for an ear to listen to, he was the man to go to.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step mother Barbara and his sister Linda.
He is survived by his ex-wife Marlinda Burr, whom he never stopped loving until his death, and their two sons; Kenneth and Jeremy, his sister Melissa Pigliavento, brother Keith Shoemaker, and his special friend Amy Michaud. Amy looked after him as only a caretaker could, and her son Tyler who was his buddy, along with a few close friends that he dearly loved. They know who you are. And of course his Veteran friends that he kept in contact with over the years.
At Ken’s request there will be no services. Donations in Ken’s name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
