Margaret E. (Bolton) Henry

Dresden: Margaret E. Henry, 90, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital. 

Margaret was born in Lancashire, England to William and Betsy Jane Bolton on October 31, 1925 on Halloween.

Her family of twelve located to Birmingham, England where she became involved in the war. In March of 1945 at 19 years old, she decided to take the war bride boat to America where she checked into Ellis Island and started north.

She found her love in Albany, New York where she married James Stafford, Sr.  They had four lovely children, Betty Ann Bennett (William) of Albany, James W. Stafford. Jr. (Carol) of Saratoga, David Stafford (Nora) of Schenectady and Barbara Manell (Gary) of Whitehall.

She got divorced and married a D & H Railroad employee, William Earl Henry.  They had a son, William Stafford Henry (Ginger) of Dresden.

She moved to Dresden in1968 where she lived comfortably for 48 years teaching all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to cook, sew and live life the right way.

She is survived by her children, seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren, her siblings of Birmingham, England, Betty Ann, David and Kathy of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Lillian, Nellie, Alfie, Sylvia and grandchildren, Misty, Danielle and Tabatha.

Family and friends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc.,  46 William Street, Whitehall on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Following the calling hours, there will be a celebration of her life at the American Legion Post #83, Main Street, Whitehall.
