Whitehall- Ralph Porter Jr., 88 of Whitehall, NY passed away at the Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness on January 5th, 2021.
He was the son of the late Ralph Porter Sr. and Ellen Brown.
Ralph served in the military for 35+ years and specialized in the Armor Division for Tanks.
He retired from the Imperial/Hercules/Ciba Giegy and Finch and Pruyn after 45 years. Ralph was an EMT for several different Rescue squads for 30 years.
He loved hunting, camping, and traveling with his family.
Ralph was always involved in the community and was a member of the Whitehall American Legion Post 83 for 23 yrs. He was a member of the post Honor Guard. Ralph took much pride in keeping the weapons clean.
He was a well-liked man because of his good nature, great spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Ralph was the husband of the late Fay Porter who passed away in March 2013. They had been married for 47 years at the time of her passing.
He is survived by his significant other Clara Lipka of Whitehall. He also leaves behind his children Diane (Thomas) Ingleston of Whitehall, Susan (Larry) Blanchard of Hudson Falls, Bonnie Chapman of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Richard (Bonnie) Porter of North Carolina, Jeffery Porter of Fort Ann, Jean Porter of Hudson Falls, Edward (Fely) Porter of Saratoga, Theodore (Erica) Porter of Hubbarton, Vt. and Tammy (Tim) Hunter of Hampton.
His siblings, Leonard (Cindy) Porter, Judith (Raymond) Martindale of Hebron, Marjorie J. Mock of Glens Falls, Carl Porter of Alabama, and Crosby Camp Jr. of Denver, Colorado.
Ralph was blessed with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will miss him greatly.
Ralph was predeceased by his brothers Donald Porter, Roland Porter, Steven Porter, Thomas Brown, Phillip Camp, Willard Camp, and Sylvia Ringer.

At the family's request there will be no calling hours. He will be buried next to his wife (Fay) at the Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.
