Rita J. Tyrell

Whitehall- Rita J. Tyrell, 80, a resident of Montcalm Avenue passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2017 in the Glens Falls Hospital.  Rita was born on January 7, 1936 in Burlington VT. The daughter of the late John and Janet (Barslow) Falkouski.  She graduated from Granville High School class of 1955, where she excelled as a majorette with the band.

She is a member of the Eagles of Fair Haven Vermont and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 83 Whitehall.

Besides being a home maker her entire life she also bartended and waitress and many local establishments.  She enjoyed playing cards, watching western movies and shows, visiting her friend Betty Bates, she also was an awesome pool player.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her longtime companion Robert Murphy who passed away in January 2014.

She is survived by she children Cindi Ferguson of Whitehall, Connie Ferguson of Schaghticoke,  Frankin Ferguson of Kansas, Donald Ferguson of Sacramento CA., Ronald Ferguson of Wells VT., Cherie Tyrell of Whitehall and Darren Tyrell of Florida. One brother Richard Falkouski of Florida.

Grandchildren Jeffery Hacket, Nicole Monroe and her companion Jeff Wicks, Mike Tuttle and his fiancée Katrina, Amanda Monroe and her companion Tim Gabriel, Becky Ferguson, Jason Ferguson, Tiffany Ferguson, Danielle Leach, James Leach, Christian Sanchez, Eleni Tyrell, several great Grandchildren and her loving dog Rascal.

Family and friends can gather for a time of fellowship at the Jillson Funeral Home Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall on Thursday January 12, 2017 from 5pm-7pm.
