Whitehall- Robert S. LaJoie, 87 of South Williams Street passed away on June 15, 2025 at his home following a short illness.
He was born on February 26, 1938, in Mount Kisco, New York, the son of John and Helen (Corsco) LaJoie.
Bob was a retired schoolteacher from the Whitehall Central School district teaching for over 35 years specializing in Jr. and Sr. High Mathematics. While teaching at Whitehall he was the assistant coach of the 1984 Class C, CC, D, and State Champion baseball team. Bob was a charter member of the Skenesborough Volunteer Fire Co. He was also a charter member of The Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church men’s choir and then The Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church men’s choir, where he sang faithfully for over 35 years at the Saturday evening Mass.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Amy LaJoie. He was also predeceased by his brother John LaJoie.
Bob is survived by his two daughters; Chrisandra LaJoie and Deborah (James) Plude, one sister Marie Palmesi, four grandchildren; Tyler Ingelston, Zackery Plude, Heather Plude and Kendra Tucker. Three great grandchildren; Charlie, Ashton, and Kennedy also several nieces and nephews.
Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Company, Whitehall, NY.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
