Whitehall-Robert Irving Stark ("Sam"), born on February 21, 1937, in Mechanicville, NY, was sent to his eternal home on March 12, 2025. He was the son of the late Rita (LaRose) and Lawrence Stark. He was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia (Rozell), daughter Kelly and brother Raymond ("Pepper").
Sam, as he was often called, served in the US Army and then worked over 40 years for the State of New York, first as a welder on the locks and then later as a Correctional Officer at Great Meadow Correctional Facility. He was a Free Mason.
Sam is survived by son Jason (Juanita) of San Diego, CA, his grandchildren Kevin Stark, Matthew Desmarias and Tabitha Desmarias, his brother, Richard (Frances) and two sisters, Robin (Norbert) Wesely and Janice Soothcage.
Burial with full military honors, conducted by the Whitehall American Legion Post 83, will be held 11am on Saturday, August 9.2025 at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall, NY.
