Rosemary I (Blair) Fields

Whitehall:  Rosemary I. Fields, 80, of 14 Fifth Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Glens Falls, following a long illness with her loving family by her side.

Born on September 6, 1935 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Seward and Geneva (Rock) Blair.

She enjoyed playing bingo and telling a good joke.  She and her husband, Sylva, enjoyed vacationing in Hampton Beach.  She especially enjoyed shopping with her daughters and in her early years, she enjoyed bowling with the Friday night woman’s league at the Whitehall Elks.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Sylva J. “Silver” Fields, who passed away on February 23, 2016 and one brother John “Jack” Blair.

Survivors include her three daughters, Betty Ostrander and her husband, Donald of Hillsdale; Sue Bucher and her husband, John of Hudson Falls and Sally Donahue and her husband, Richard of Gansevoort; grandchildren, Samantha Ostrander, Chrissy Laurange, Christopher Garnsey, Candice Choppy, Jeff Bucher, Matt Bucher and Ben Bucher; one great greatgrandchild, Skyler Adam Laurange; several nieces and nephews, her cousin, Helen Beebe of Whitehall, who was so close they were like sisters and a good friend, Judy Baker of Whitehall; sister-in-;law Cheryl Blair of Whitehall.

Family and friends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, In., 46 Williams Street, Whitehall on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 4PM to 6PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary and Sylva Fields will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall with Rev. Rendell Torres, pastor, officiating.

Interment for both will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation in Rosemary’s name to the Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Activity Department, 170 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides for their kindness and compassionate care for their mother while at The Pines.
