Sandra M. (Mitchison) Rozell

Whitehall:   Sandra M. Rozell, 76, of County Route 12,   passed away on October 14, 2015 at her home following a long battle with ALS.

She was born on February 21, 1939 in Whitehall, the daughter of the late John T. and Catherine A. (Morse) Mitchison.

She enjoyed doing cross stitching, reading, jigsaw puzzles and interacting with her new Amish neighbors.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by Larry McCarthy, Sandra Rozell, Alan Rozell and Virginia Rozell, Theodore Rozell and Joyce Rozell, Patricia Stark, Carol Rozell and a daughter-in-law, Linda Rozell.

She is survived by her husband Wilbur Rozell of Whitehall, two sons, John Rozell of Whitehall, and Rodney Rozell (Liliana) of Nazareth, PA; special niece, Jill Jones (Larry Gooley) of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Raymond (Merry) Mitchison and Thomas (Lynn) Mitchison of North Chatham, NY; sister, Joyce McCarthy of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Stacy (John) Lavin of Whitehall, Ryne, Shelby and Tessie Rozell of Nazareth, PA; greatgrandchildren, Josiah, Kyle and Alice Lavin; in-laws, Gail (Frank) McCullen, Robert (Eileen) Rozell of Whitehall; Kenneth Rozell of Gansevoort; Robert Stark of Whitehall.

There will be no calling hours.

Services will be private on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc. 46 Williams Street, Whitehall, NY.

Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall.

The family has suggested that contributions may be made in Sandy’s name toward a fund for the Amish schools in care of the funeral home.
