Sandra L. Townsend

Hampton-Whitehall- Sandra L. (Mayo) Townsend, 81 of Golf Course Road, Passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Glens Falls Hospital Following a Short illness.

Sandra was born on September 12, 1936 in Whitehall, the daughter of the late Loretta (Chase) Charpentier and Andrew Mayo, she was raised by her maternal grandparents Edward W. Sr.  and Stella (Beaupre)  Chase.

She married Donald L. Townsend on May 18, 1957 and raised two children before his passing on September 14, 2000.

Sandra was a Whitehall Central School graduate of the class of 1954

In her early years she worked as an operator for the local phone Company and at Chases Market.

She is survived by her son Robert E. Townsend and his wife Mary Begley of Buffalo, daughter Barbara Tracy and her husband Scott of Whitehall, two grandchildren, Toran Tracy, Taryn Tracy, two brothers, Gary Charpentier and Keith (Skip) Charpentier both of Whitehall, a dear friend Patricia Gosselin, several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the 3rd floor west of the Glens Falls Hospital.

There will be no calling hours or services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
