Whitehall: Scott Longtin went into the arms of our Lord unexpectedly in the Saratoga Hospital on July 7, 2016 in Saratoga Springs, NY at the age of 43.
Scott is survived by his parents, Keith and Sherry (Kinner) Longtin of Whitehall; Derrick and Jocelyn Longtin, Whitehall; Kim Hunkapilar, finance` and love of his life of Saratoga Springs, NY. He is also survived by his sister, Julie (Longtin) Morales and two very special nieces, Payton and Hannah Morales of Whitehall; his former spouse Lisa (Davis) Longtin, Whitehall; step-grandmother, Irene Longtin of Queensbury, NY.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Thyrza (Ryder) Kinner and Leo and Rita (Gosselin) Longtin.
Scott was born on July 28, 1972 to Keith and Sherry Longtin. He graduated from RIT college, Rochester, NY with a degree in mechanical engineering. Some high points of his career are while he worked for Federal Mogul in Detroit, Michigan co-partnering a seal patent which positively impacted locomotives built for the European railroads; B/E Aerospace in Miami, FL co-partnering a patent for the construction of a new design airline seat for the private aircraft industry. Mechanical engineering design was his passion. His children remember him as a kind and compassionate father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. He shared his life with them with laughter enjoying all of their friends. Scott was an inspiration to us all.
Calling hours and a memorial service are being held at the Jillson Funeral Home, 46 Williams St. Whitehall, NY. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 11 from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm. There will be a memorial service at the funeral home on Tuesday July 12 at noon with a reception to follow in the undercroft at Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 Broadway, Whitehall, NY. The family would like to thank the Saratoga Hospital doctors, nurses, and entire staff for their extraordinary care and dedication during Scott’s time of need.
