Terry E. Hoyt

Whitehall: Terry E. Hoyt, 63, of Holcombville Road passed away on April 6, 2016 at the Glens Falls of cardiac arrest.

He was born on March 18, 1953 in Whitehall, the son of the late Donald and Lorraine (Benway) Hoyt.

He graduated from Whitehall High School and worked for the village department, a mechanic at Leo Longtin’s garage and was a dispatcher for the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department.  Due to his declining health, he had to leave his job at the Granville McDonald’s.

His enjoyments in life were eating out at the Golden Corral, long automobile rides, going to the Whitehall United Methodist Church and helping others in spite of how he felt.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Melissa.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Katherine (Davis) Hoyt, his brother, Donald and sister Bonnie and brother-in-law, Gary Butler; sister-in-law. Miriam Davis of West Baldwin, Maine and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday. April 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM by Pastor Scott Rogers at the Whitehall United Methodist Church on Greenmount Cemetery Lane.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments downstairs in the church hall.

Heartfelt thanks to the cousins and friends, always willing to visit with Terry to brighten his days.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in Terry’s name to the Whitehall Food Pantry or the Whitehall United Methodist Church, 56 Greenmount Cemetery Lane, Whitehall, NY 12887.
