Urlyn L. (Berry) (Holcomb) Goff

Whitehall: Urlyn L. Holcomb Goff, 94, of Neddo Street passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her home following a short illness.

She was born on July 15, 1921 in Wilder, Vermont, the daughter of the late Ervin and Mattie (Howard) Berry.

She and her husband, Donald, were long-time members of the Dick Ladd Dance Association and Larry Lambert New Country Music where they enjoyed attending events and made many life-long friends. Urlyn enjoyed camping with her husband and having family and friends come by for a visit at her home which always brought her great enjoyment; the door was always open.

She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 83 Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the Whitehall Methodist Church.

She was employed by Sherwood Medical for many years and retired in 1984.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Richard Reddington and her second husband, Robert Holcomb; six sisters, Kathyrn Berry Duff, Gertrude Jones, Glenna Duval, Eleanor Berry, Muriel Locke and Leola Shaw; and two brothers, Erwin Berry and Howard Berry; step-son, Aonald Goff, grandson, Lee Herbst and great grandson, Jake Rouse.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Donald Goff of Whitehall whom she married on May 12, 1995; three children, Betty Baker of Cambridge, Lori Holcomb of Whitehall and Tom Holcomb and his wife, Peggy of St. Cloud, FL; step-children, Kristianne Greenwood and her husband Edward of Whitehall, Floranne Goff Hammond and her husband, Fred of Bow, NH, Donald Goff and his wife Robin of Kingsbury and Ronald Goff and his wife Julie of Granville; 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams Street, Whitehall on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 6PM to 8PM.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Rogers, pastor of the Whitehall United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in the North Granville Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Dennis Goff, Corey Chambers, Mason Morey, Curtis Arquette, Chuck Goodspeed, Eric Hammond and Chris Goff.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations in Urlyn’s name be made to the Whitehall Food Pantry, 56 Greenmount Road, Whitehall, NY 12887 or the American Legion Post No. 83 Ladies Auxiliary, 148 Main Street, Whitehall, New York 12887.
