Whitehall-Warren R Hildreth, of Whitehall, NY, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 5th, 2026 at the age of 98. Born October 26, 1927, in Whitehall, NY, he was the son of Elizabeth Harvey Hildreth and Albert Hildreth.
Warren attended Whitehall School. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Merchant Marines. Later, he joined the US Navy, serving from August 13, 1945- October 25, 1948. He was an active member of the Whitehall American Legion Post 83, for 61 years.
Warren worked many years in manufacturing, at Ciba Geigy in Glens Falls, NY.
Throughout his life, Warren was devoted to his wife and children. He enjoyed his home, spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, listening to county music, dancing, and an occasional ice cold beer.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 5 brothers, along with several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a beloved grandson, Albert Jason Hildreth.
Warren is survived by his wife of nearly 75 years, Fray Hildreth, along with his son, Albert Hildreth (Dawn) and his daughters Linda Gosselin, and Sue Ellen Ripley (Robert). Grandchildren: Brandy Lilly (Justin), Heather von Lenz (James), Jeremy Gosselin, Noelle Gosselin, Daniel DeLuca (Kayla), Eric Ripley (Cora), and Susannah Chandler (Calib). 3 Sisters-law, 2 brothers-in law, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Warren’s name be made to Skenesborough EMS.
